Thomas A. Curran

Thomas A. Curran (May 29, 1879 – January 24, 1941), was an early American contracted film actor, born in Australia. Curran was educated in film in America, and got his early start in Theater. He acted in the original productions of ''Excuse Me'' written by Rupert Hughes which was later adapted for the screen twice, including the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film starring Norma Shearer, and ''Oh, Oh, Delphine'', as well as in numerous vaudeville sketches.
He was signed as an actor to the Thanhouser Company in 1915 and made 22 films over his three year contract with the early American film company, including ''The World and the Woman'' opposite Jeanne Eagels and ''Inspiration'', the first non-pornographic American film to show full female nudity. In his later years he moved to Californian, and made his living playing bit parts and other small roles in studio films like ''Morocco'' and ''Citizen Kane''. In his life he appeared in 60 films between his start in 1915 and death in 1941. Curran died in Hollywood, California, USA.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Thomas A. Curran Biography )
